Terms and Conditions

Reservations may be made by telephone or email/internet but all confirmations will only be made via email. A 50% deposit is required on booking of the full value of the rental with the remaining 50% payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Once the 50% deposit has been paid by either switch, debit or credit card then a confirmation email is sent to the guest. This booking confirmation assumes the guest has read and understood all these terms and conditions and will conduct their stay according to them.

Security Bond

When a reservation is accepted a contract exists between both parties. To cover the “Apartment” through misuse a security bond is applied. The bond will be 50% of the total balance secured on a credit card 24 hours prior to arrival at the Apartment, this will be refunded upon satisfactory inspection of the “Apartment” on your day of departure. The bond will be retained if the apartment is not left as found on day of arrival.
On the rare occasion when damage occurs, by negligence or a deliberate action taken by a Guest which directly or indirectly causes loss to the “Apartment”, the Guest agrees to indemnify such losses. This can include any breakages, damage or reported disturbances at night, losses include lost income, specialist expenses and the sourcing of alternative accommodation as necessary. In the event of the guest’s departure, the “Apartment” reserves the right to deduct the appropriate fee from the security bond or any additional monies required from credit card numbers provided.
If keys are taken/lost on your departure from the “Apartment” we will deduct £150 from the security bond to cover the cost of replacement locks/labour and inconvenience. The “Apartment” operates a non-smoking policy throughout the house. In the event of a guest(s) breaching the aforementioned policy, Aarajura will levy a charge for laundry and additional cleaning to the Guests final bill of £100 plus the guest may have to pay for althernative accommodation if the apartment is unusable due to smoke. Where travel or Booking Agents charge us a fee, this is added to the normal tariff charges.

Cancellation Policy

When a reservation is made, by telephone or in writing, and accepted, a contract exists between the Guest and Aarajura. If for any reason the reservation is cancelled, in full or in part, a breach of contract exists. Aarajura reserves the right to cancel a booking on any grounds it feels are necessary and will honour no liability by doing so. However Aarajura will make every effort to find alternative accommodation for the guests, but it is not bound to do so. Cancellations; - deposits are Non-Refundable. Should the guest cancel a booking after final payment is received this will be retained until such time as the apartment is re-let, If at the end of the reservation period, despite the efforts made by Aarajura, the accommodation is not re-let, then Aarajura is entitled to claim damages which reflect the losses incurred as a result of the cancellation. This is the value of the reservation; less any re-let value achieved and deposits already paid. Aarajura will make every effort to re-let the accommodation, and therefore reduce the likely losses for the Guest. Terms, Conditions, Contracts and Disputes are determined under Scottish Law.
Aarajura closes for arrivals at 6.00 pm at which time outstanding reservations are assumed to be non-arrivals. Non-arrivals are 'late cancellations'. A later check in is usually available but only with prior arrangement with Aarajura. Check in time is 2 pm.
The latest check out time is 10.00 am. Late-Check out will incur a charge equivalent to the previous days rate.

General Notes

Apartment keys can be collected from Aarajura Guest House, 14 Granville Terrace, and Edinburgh, EH10 4PQ. Keys must be left on the dining table of apartments on your departure.

The apartment must be left in the condition it was found ie clean and tidy with all rubbish in the black bin bags supplied, all dishes washed and put away, all towels in the laundry basket.

Sorry but we are unable to store luggage upon guest’s departure. Left luggage lockers are located at St.Andrew’s Square bus station and Waverly Train Station.

BECAUSE THERE ARE NO REFUNDS IF A CANCELLATION IS NECESSARY, TRAVEL INSURANCE IS ESSENTIAL WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION.
